Murangburra
MEANING OF THE NAME
Murangburra is derived from Murang ‘Forest animals’ with the clan/locality suffix ‘-burra’ attached. Murangburra means ‘Forest Animal People’ and refers to the numerous animals that inhabit their country, many of which have totemic status.
COUNTRY
Murangburra country is in the upper reaches of the Tweed river valley, extending west to the caldera, and cenred around Mt. Warning.
